PEARL hosts first RIDE FOR REFUGE walk to support vulnerable and at-risk women

PEARL is proud to host its first-ever Ride for Refuge (RIDE) fundraising walk on Saturday, October 3, 2026. This family-friendly community event invites people of all ages to walk together and raise funds to support individuals in our community who are facing hardship, poverty, and other barriers.

Ride for Refuge is a national fundraising movement taking place in more than 50 communities across Canada. Each year, thousands of participants walk and ride in support of local charities that serve people seeking hope, safety, and belonging.

The PEARL Ride for Refuge event will begin and end at Peach Park starting at 10:00 am. Participants can choose between 2 km or 5 km walking routes, enjoy refreshments along the way, and celebrate together at the finish line. Adult participants who raise $150 or more, and youth who raise $75 or more, will receive the official Ride for Refuge T-shirt.

Even if you are not in Chilliwack, you can support PEARL, be part of the solution, and walk where you are.

“We’re thrilled to bring Ride for Refuge to our community for the first time,” said Cindy. “Every dollar raised will help PEARL continue providing vital programs and supports for people who need them most. We invite everyone to join us, whether by walking, fundraising, volunteering, or cheering participants on. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.”
